Software developers often have to stop a discussion to ask an AI assistant for help. DeepSeek, a Chinese artificial intelligence startup, has released an open-source prototype called Super-agent. It is designed to monitor developers' group chats for coding problems and suggest solutions without waiting for a separate prompt, according to the company.
DeepSeek says its goal is to provide useful work while taking as little human attention as possible. The project develops the software around an AI model that helps it use tools and coordinate tasks. It remains a prototype. Its ambition raises a practical question: can an assistant that joins a team's conversation reduce interruptions rather than create more of them?
