General Compute raises $100 million for a specialized AI inference cloud

General Compute announced a $100 million Series A on October 27, co-led by Blackbird and Abstract, with participation from Fuse Venture Partners, Village Global, and others. The company says it finances and operates GPUs and specialized inference chips from Cerebras, SambaNova, and Positron AI. Its first major deployments are scheduled for the first quarter of 2027, with more than 50 megawatts of capacity in its pipeline.

Customers can purchase dedicated computing hardware access or service contracts guaranteeing a specified token-processing rate, without procuring or managing the infrastructure themselves. The equity round follows a previously announced $400 million debt facility from Upper90. The model combines infrastructure financing and operations with workload-specific hardware selection; the major deployments and capacity described remain planned rather than completed.
