Stoke Space has secured a conditional commitment for a $150 million Pentagon loan to build a second launch pad at Cape Canaveral, according to an October 26 report. The proposed facility would serve Nova Block 2, a fully reusable rocket designed to carry up to 15 metric tons to low Earth orbit. The company targets a 2029 debut for Block 2, and the loan would be combined with private capital.
The financing is not final: Stoke must meet financial, legal, technical, and due-diligence requirements. It has not yet reached orbit and plans the first launch of its smaller Nova Pathfinder rocket in early 2027. Although Stoke is in a pool of potential national-security launch providers, it cannot bid on those missions until it completes a successful orbital flight.
